chi⋅me⋅ra

this is the official jump off of my new blog: steph's word of the day. a new way to look at words by, basically, looking at them. not listening to them. you are going to view words in ways you never dreamed possible, ever, my friends.

so, to kick this ditty off, i'm taking it back to a word that was long ago the 'word of the day'. but a goodie nonetheless, and also one of my fave's. here it is.
chi⋅me⋅ra [ki-meer-uh, kahy-]
–noun, plural -ras.
1. a mythological, fire-breathing monster, commonly represented with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail.
